This year’s Miss Korea contestants’ mugshots are out, and boy, we’ve got to say, they sure look really alike.
The problem is that Koreans have this benchmark for beauty which they all strive to achieve – the V shaped face, double eyelids, sharp and high nose bridge . Plastic surgery has become part and parcel of life for Koreans and what better way to exhibit these post surgical success stories/beauties, than to congregate these women to showcase the competence of plastic surgery.
Of the field of 50 for this year’s pageant, we can’t quite tell about three quarters of them apart. Miss Korea contestants are allowed to have plastic surgery, thus the observable similarities that we see in the contestants below.
Most noticeable is their smiles and V shaped face, which if you were to cover the top half of all their faces, you’d have a tough time telling them apart.
While the similarities could be due to an overzealous photoshop editor, there is no denying that Korea is renowned for their plastic surgery techniques, with one in five woman undergoing some type of procedure.
So while we don’t know exactly how many of these women underwent a procedure, what we can do is to admire their beauty, clones and clones of them.
With the world now nuts for K-pop and K-dramas, it certainly helps if one wins the title of Miss Korea 2014, to be propelled into the limelight.
Korean female celebrities are highly desirable, and many have also gone under the knife to prolong their career in the public eye. If undergoing a procedure ensures you getting that much closer to the top, it’s not something to be ashamed of, so they believe.
Of course, since the Korean society is relatively superficial, it also helps women in their daily lives, having attention showered upon them by hoards of males to having life much easier since virtually anyone would help save a gorgeous damsel in distress, in a heartbeat.
Now that we have understood the reasons/excuses of these beauties, let’s enjoy these 50 head turners and appreciate the beauty of Korea, or should we say the beauty of the Korean plastic surgery.
