Dr Leslie Kuek, a certified plastic surgeon, is registered with the Singapore Academy of Medicine. Dr Kuek was the president of the Singapore Society of Cosmetic (Aesthetic) Surgeons till 2003, and was also the former president of the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr Leslie Kuek BK graduated with a basic medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1981 and obtained his advanced surgery degrees from the Royal Colleges of Edinburgh & Glasgow in 1986. In 1989, he won the Young Surgeon’s Award for best scientific research.
Dr Leslie Kuek further advanced his skills in plastic surgery training at the Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Tokyo, Japan & Taipei Chang Gung Hospital, Taiwan. Dr Kuek worked in the department of Plastic Surgery in Singapore General Hospital from 1986 to 1995 before he began his private practice at the Gleneagles Medical Centre.
Dr Leslie Kuek is a pioneer in the development of Plastic Surgery in Singapore. He was instrumental in developing the Breast Reconstruction & Facial Paralysis Reconstruction programs in the Department of Plastic Surgery of Singapore General Hospital. Moreover, Dr Leslie Kuek was also a clinical teacher and lecturer in Plastic Surgery to trainee medical students and nurses.
As a senior member of the Plastic Surgery community, Dr Leslie Kuek is much sought after by TV and Radio Media, as well as local and foreign magazines and newspapers for his opinions and ideas on issues pertaining to the field of Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery. Dr Kuek has given, and continues to give numerous lectures and public talks on Plastic Surgery both in Singapore and overseas.
Some of the publications Dr Leslie Kuek has been featured in include Her World, Female, Dare, Cream, Prestige, Next Magazine (Hong Kong), The Singapore Women’s Weekly, Asiaweek, The Straits Times, Lian He Zao Bao, Lian He Wan Bao, Crew Magazine, Indonesia Tatler, This Quarterly:Timely Health Information & Style to name a few. Dr Kuek has also contributed many articles to various Cosmetic Surgery and Beauty Magazines.
In addition, Dr Leslie Kuek was the plastic surgeon who led a volunteer team of Singaporean doctors and nurses to help the victims of the Bali bomb blast in October 2002. Dr Leslie Kuek was also involved as a member of the Parkway medical relief mission to Sri Lanka in the aftermath of the Tsunami in December 2004.
